Our Story…

The White Bluffs Quilt Museum is located in the historic Tri-Cities region of southeastern Washington, at the confluence of the beautiful Yakima, Snake, and Columbia Rivers. This sun soaked region is known as, “The Heart of Washington Wine Country.” Of historical interest, the nearby Hanford Nuclear Site was built in the early 1940’s to produce fuel for nuclear weapons, including the atomic bomb.

The White Bluffs Quilt Museum celebrates and shares the rich history, craftsmanship, and beauty of quilts. Our mission is to preserve quilts and educate the public about this heritage art form.

With a collection of over one hundred antique and vintage quilts, the Museum offers three exhibits each year featuring quilts from the permanent collection, as well as items generously loaned by members of the Museum and Guild.

The Museum was founded in 2007 by a group of passionate quilters. Totally staffed by volunteers, the Museum is supported by membership fees, grants, special events, and generous donations. The White Bluffs Quilt Museum works closely with the Tri-Cities Quilters’ Guild, collaborating on quilt-related projects, workshops and events.
