“Stitches in Time”
Exhibit
Quilts serve as powerful historical documents, reflecting not only the lives of their makers but also the broader social and cultural context in which they lived. The "Stitches in Time" exhibit highlights women's stories told through the quilts that survived them:
· a simple friendship made in White Bluffs, one of the few artifacts that survive from a town that no longer exists.
· a going-away present for a Mormon family as they moved from Utah to Richland in the 40s.
· a cheerful Dresden Plate quilt, pieced together by a single mother in the depths of the Depression.
Quilts are tangible links to the past, history stitched together piece by piece.
Help keep the Museum a place for all to share the joys and art of quilting.
